This program is part of the project "Advancing The Rights Of Vulnerable Women & Children In East Jerusalem"
Funded by the European Union & implemented in partnership with the Heinrich Boell Foundation - Palestine & Jordan office.
Artlab is currently implementing the 2nd year of an EU funded project in coordination with Heinrich Boell Foundation – Palestine & Jordan Office and in collaboration with ACAD, RIGHT TO PLAY, SAWA and WAR CHILD. The project is called “Advancing the Rights of Vulnerable Palestinian Women and Children in East Jerusalem”.Within this framework, Artlab is implementing its component: the “YOUTH STARTup” MULTIMEDIA PROGRAM.
Our keywords for this project are: youth, freedom of expression and opportunities. We offer professional trainings in the audio-visual field for the Jerusalemite youth between the ages of 16 to 25. The overall theme of our work is “gender and diversity in Jerusalem”.We decided to invest in quality rather than in quantity, meaning that we’ll be working for a long time with the same youth, to start a creative process that will go beyond a simple training. It is about providing youth with specific tools, giving them a chance to utilize those tools to deliver a message that is relevant for them and to discuss and challenge the stereotypes we’ll face related to the topics. As we succeeded in previous similar experiences we hope that by the end of this project, after navigating them through the process of finding the keys for their future, some of these youths will be able to be employed in Jerusalem and abroad.
